No Need to Panic: Resolving Ethical Dilemmas in Everyday Practice

 presented by 2 members of the NJPA Ethics Committee, Lisa Greenberg, PhD and Laura Richardson, PhD   

Drs. Greenberg and Richardson will offer some general guidelines in thinking through and resolving ethical dilemmas that arise for psychologists in typical practice situations. They will then discuss one particular clinical vignette to illustrate their approach. Audience participation will be encouraged.

    Learning objectives:       

1. Participants will understand the concept of positive ethics

2. Participants will be able to differentiate ethical, legal, risk management and clinical aspects in making decisions in difficult cases

3. Participants will understand the value of weighing conflicting ethical principles in challenging clinical situations.
