Incorporating Hypnosis Into Your Clinical Practice

Presented by Richard Dauber, PhD 

Dr. Dauber is an Approved Consultant and Certified by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and has been using hypnosis in his treatment of both adults and children for over 40 years.  He has used hypnosis in the management of a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, phobias, habit disorders, pain management, and performance enhancement to name just a few.

 Dr. Dauber will be teaching ways of thinking and practicing hypnotically.  He will discuss various applications of hypnosis in treatment and the use of both direct and indirect suggestion.  He will also explain the importance of language, tailoring and utilization when incorporating hypnosis into your clinical practice. 

Learning Objectives:  Participants will be able to:

1.     Identify some of the applications of hypnosis in treatment.   
2.     Name the differences between Direct and Indirect suggestions.
3.     Describe several types of Indirect suggestions.
4.     Identify what is meant by utilization and tailoring.

This program is intended for psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and graduate students. It will be presented at an intermediate level, meant for those with some prior knowledge of the subject matter. The presenters receive no commercial support and report no conflict of interest regarding this presentation.

The breakfast will be from 9-9:30am. providing a chance to network with colleagues and students.  The presentation will follow from 9:30– 10:30 a.m.  Payments may be made at the door by check (made out to MCPA) or with cash, if you did not pay online when you registered.
